MATHS FUN

This term grade 6 folks have been dabbling in a little maths problem solving. The children have been working their way through a variety of open-ended maths tasks. They have needed to follow a problem solving process and think smartly about which problem solving strategy would best help solve the problem. Children have pulled hair out while going 'round in circles, searching for the elusive solution. The look on the kids' faces when they finally get to the answer has been the highlight for me as a teacher. Here's a bunch of pics showing some of the kids battling their way through problems. You'd be forgiven for thinking they're almost enjoying Maths!
